About Sebacic Oman
The Gulf's First Bio-Based Specialty Chemicals Biorefinery
A green-chemistry joint venture between Omani and Indian investors, built in the Special Economic Zone of Al Duqm — and designed to supply the world.
From a Native Omani Plant to a Global Chemical Platform
Sebacic Oman S.A.O.C. was conceived from a simple but powerful observation: castor (Ricinus communis) grows natively across the Al Wusta region of Oman, and from its oil you can manufacture one of the most versatile and in-demand bio-based chemicals in the world — sebacic acid.
Located at Plot No. 1, Heavy Industries Zone, Special Economic Zone of Al Duqm (SEZAD), our biorefinery is the first Indo-Omani investment of its kind in Duqm. We are a joint venture between Omani and Indian investors, combining local market access and regulatory expertise with deep chemical manufacturing know-how.
In Phase 1, we produce sebacic acid (30,000 TPA), Green DOP (20,000 TPA), mixed fatty oil (4,200 TPA), and glycerine (2,000 TPA) — all from a single, fully bio-based feedstock, with zero petroleum inputs.

Our Principles
Four commitments that govern every decision at Sebacic Oman.
Green by Design
Every process, every product, and every decision is evaluated against its environmental footprint. We do not compromise on the bio-based principle.
Performance at Parity
Sustainability must never require a technical compromise. Our products meet or exceed the specifications of the petroleum-derived equivalents they replace.
Global Outlook
We build for global markets from day one. Our Duqm location — with its FTA network, deep-water port, and tax-free status — is a strategic export platform.
Indo-Omani Partnership
A joint venture between Omani and Indian investors, combining Gulf market access with South Asian chemical expertise. The first investment of its kind in Al Duqm.
